Is there a way of being able to use Dreamweaver to edit the theme of a BuddyPress site on MAMP? I am running MAMP Pro 1.9.4 & Dreamweaver CS6 on OSX 1.6.8.
But DW only allows live view when permalinks are set to default, which of course breaks BP…
Anyone got a work-around for this yet?

Thanks a lot Boone. Am putting this on a computer I am bringing to THATCamp and want to try some hacking on it while there. Will try to grab you for advice if needs be. Will be doing more hacking and less yakking at THATCamp this year which should be fun.

Kimon: Yes, it should work. MAMP doesn’t care where your webroot is. Just make sure that (a) your Apache configuration file has the virtual host pointing to the right place, and (b) you’ve set the correct location on the Apache tab of the MAMP config.

Do you think that this would work across two computers that are syncing the /sites directory over something like SpiderOak and both have MAMP set up with same settings?

Cool, makes sense, I’ll run netstat or something to figure out what the conflict is with. I had thought it might be something I couldn’t turn off, but this sounds promising. Cheers, Scott
